Students at Heron Pond Elementary School in Milford N. H. receive Physical Education class one day a week for 50 minutes. Our goal is for students to be as active as possible while also enjoying their time in class. A fun experience keeps our students excited about moving and hopefully this will continue long after they leave. We strive to give all our students the opportunity to explore many kinds of sport, leisure, group game and exercise activities in a safe environment.

While students are not required to change clothes for Physical Education class it is still important that they come to class prepared to participate in a safe manner.
All students should wear:
Sneakers that lace or Velcro in a manner that keeps them on the student's feet. Anything else, such as untied or slip on sneakers, crocks, flip flops, slippers, boots, and shoes of any kind will increase the chance of accidents and will not be permitted for most PE activities.
Loose fitting clothing including shorts or pants work best for PE. In most cases, no one will be excluded from class for wearing a dress but it may greatly limit participation in some classes.
Students should not wear:
Jewelry of any kind unless it's a medical bracelet and we make an exception for "stud" earrings that don't dangle below the ear lobe. This is mostly a safety issue. We know that watches scratch, dangling earrings get ripped out, and some necklaces can choke. In addition, we humbly ask you to consider that even if that special bracelet or necklace is not inherently dangerous, many PE activities can lead to damage or loss of that special item which can be traumatic. Please help your children to not wear jewelry and come prepared to have a great PE class. We appreciate your help!
